ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,331,152, issued on June 17, was assigned to TOWER IPCO COMPANY Ltd. (Dublin).

"Sustainable resilient plank" was invented by Eric Scott Speas (Calhoun, Ga.), Robert Corey Carter (Calhoun, Ga.), Perry Lamar Muse (Calhoun, Ga.) and Erik Christopher Arnold (Calhoun, Ga.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure provides a polyurethane core for use in a floor or wall panel, the core comprising a polyol made, at least in part, from one or more recycled materials, and an isocyanate."
