ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,371,236, issued on July 29, was assigned to TOPPAN INC. (Tokyo).
"Gas barrier laminate and packaging material" was invented by Takeshi Nishikawa (Tokyo), Kaoru Furuta (Tokyo), Miki Fukugami (Tokyo), Ayumi Tanaka (Tokyo) and Mikinori Yamada (Tokyo).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A gas barrier laminate including: a substrate layer which contains a polyolefin resin; a barrier layer; and an overcoat layer which contains a polyvinyl alcohol resin, the overcoat layer having a surface which has a surface hardness of 1.5 GPa or less, as measured by a nanoindentation method."
