ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,324,973, issued on June 10, was assigned to Topgolf Callaway Brands Corp. (Carlsbad, Calif.).

"Iron golf club with electrical components" was invented by Mario Raposo (Carlsbad, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An iron-type golf club comprising an electrical component is disclosed herein. The electrical component comprises an integrated circuit having a gyroscope, a magnetometer, and a BLUETOOTH low energy (BTLE) radio, and at least one battery. A body is composed of an epoxy material, and the body encompasses the electrical component."

The patent was filed on Dec. 20, 2021, under Application No. 17/555,962.
