ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,468,135, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to TOPCON Corp. (Tokyo).

"Slit lamp microscope" was invented by Hitoshi Shimizu (Tokyo) and Hisashi Tsukada (Hachioji, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A slit lamp microscope according to an embodiment example includes a scanner and a memory. The scanner is configured to perform application of a scan with slit light to a three dimensional region including a corner angle of a subject's eye to collect an image group. The memory is configured to store the image group collected by the scanner."

The patent was filed on May 13, 2021, under Application No. 18/011,538.
