ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,330,041, issued on June 17, was assigned to Tonal Systems Inc. (San Francisco).
"Exercise machine safety enhancements" was invented by Aly E. Orady (Austin, Texas) and Bret G. Stott (Menlo Park, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Sensor data is collected from a sensor monitoring a tension generating device of an exercise machine. The sensor data is analyzed to determine whether the sensor data is within a specification. In an event that the sensor data is not within the specification, an error stop mode is entered for the tension generating device."
