ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,843, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to TMD Friction Services GmbH (Leverkusen, Germany).
"Binder-free friction linings, process for their production and their use" was invented by Richard Lewis (Mettmann, Germany) and Paulo Perin (Hamburg, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Expanded graphite and/or vermiculite are introduced into the friction lining mixture to eliminate or substantially reduce the amount of binder present therein.
