US Patent Issued to Tiocona on April 22 for "Technique for testing the ball dent properties of a sample" (South Korean, American Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,282,005, issued on April 22, was assigned to Tiocona LLC (Florence, Ky.).

"Technique for testing the ball dent properties of a sample" was invented by Young Shin Kim (Cincinnati), Young Chul Yang (Seoul, South Korea) and Soohee Choi (Seoul, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for testing a sample for ball dent properties is provided. The method comprises disposing a sample on a stage of a testing apparatus and moving a trigger assembly that contains a tip having a radiused terminus toward the sample such that the terminus impacts the sample one or more times."
