ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,440,806, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to THIOSOLV LLC (Largo, Fla.).
"Process for eliminating hydrogen sulfide in an ammonium sulfate solution" was invented by Michael J. Ray (Clearwater, Fla.), Michael F. Ray (Clearwater, Fla.) and Matthew F. Ray (Clearwater, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A process for substantially removing hydrogen sulfide from an ammonium sulfate solution. The process involves maintaining the pH of the solution to a range that optimally removes entrained hydrogen sulfide. The hydrogen sulfide is then reacted with sulfites, bisulfites, or sulfur dioxide to form ammonium thiosulfate."
