ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,533,360, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to The University of Chicago (Chicago).
"Inhibition of BRD proteins suppresses the phenotype of uterine fibroids" was invented by Qiwei Yang (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Ayman Al-Hendy (Hinsdale, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In aspects, the present disclosure provides a method of treating or preventing a uterine fibroid in a female mammal, the method comprising, consisting essentially of, or consisting of administering to the female mammal an effective amount of an inhibitor of bromodomain (BRD) protein."
