ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,236,549, issued on Feb. 25, was assigned to THE SANBORN MAP COMPANY INC. (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
"Automated buckshot modeling tool" was invented by Stephen Griffiths (Calgary, Canada).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a new approach to characterize, model, and find Buckshot anomalies within LiDAR point cloud dataset collected with Geiger-mode Avalanche Photodiode (GmAPD) LiDAR platforms."
The patent was filed on Nov. 22, 2022, under Application No. 18/057,961.
