ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,247,182, issued on March 11, was assigned to The Procter & Gamble Co. (Cincinnati).

"Alkylbenzenesulfonate surfactants" was invented by Phillip Kyle Vinson (Fairfield, Ohio), Randall Thomas Reilman (Cincinnati), Patrick Christopher Stenger (Fairfield, Ohio) and Cheyne Thomas (Independence, Ky.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A liquid laundry composition having from about 6% to about 50%, by weight of the laundry composition, of a surfactant component. The surfactant component having from about 0.5% to about 30%, by weight of the laundry composition, of an HLAS surfactant selected from alkyl benzene sulfonic acids, alkali metal or amine s...
