ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,540,288, issued on Feb. 3, was assigned to The Lubrizol Corp. (Wickliffe, Ohio).
"Thermally stable, low traction coefficient lubricant" was invented by Patricia Standen (Belper, Great Britain), William R.S. Barton (Belper, Great Britain), Thomas S. Corrigan (Lakewood, Ohio) and Sona Sivakova (Painesville, Ohio).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The disclosed technology relates to lubricants for driveline and industrial gears containing a combination of viscosity modifiers along with optional esters, as well as a method of lubricating driveline and industrial gears with such a lubricant."
