ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,459,876, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to The Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore).
"One-step kit-based synthesis of 2-deoxy-2-[ 18 Ffluoro-D-sorbitol" was invented by Sanjay K. Jain (Baltimore), Filipa Mota (Baltimore) and Alvaro A. Ordonez (Baltimore).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A self-contained kit and method for the on-demand synthesis of 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-D-sorbitol (18F-FDS) from commercially available 2-deoxy-2-[F18]fluoroglucose (18F-FDG) is disclosed."
The patent was filed on Aug. 27, 2021, under Application No. 18/043,538.
