ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,528,739, issued on Jan. 20, was assigned to THE HONG KONG POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY (Hong Kong).
"Method for sequestering CO2 from flue gas and preparing microfiber-reinforced cement" was invented by Peiliang Shen (Hong Kong), Jianxin Lu (Hong Kong), Dongxing Xuan (Hong Kong) and Chi-Sun Poon (Hong Kong).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for sequestating carbon dioxide from flue gas by using a cement clinker. The products of this method can also be used to prepare microfiber-reinforced cement. The method of the present disclosure is capable of capturing and storing carbon dioxide in flue gas, such as cement kiln flue gas."
