US Patent Issued to The Goodyear Tire & Rubber on Aug. 5 for "Method of making a silica/cellulose hybrid" (Ohio Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,378,327, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. (Akron, Ohio).

"Method of making a silica/cellulose hybrid" was invented by George Jim Papakonstantopoulos (Medina, Ohio) and Bruce Raymond Hahn (Hudson, Ohio).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "It has been found that certain silica/cellulose hybrid compositions can be incorporated into rubber formulations with excellent compatibility between the filler and the rubber being attained.
