ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,289,071, issued on April 29, was assigned to The Florida State University Research Foundation Inc. (Tallahassee, Fla.).
"Induction machine with localized voltage unbalance compensation" was invented by Thomas A. Lipo (Vestal, N.Y.) and Akihiro Imakiire (Kitakyushu Fukuoka, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An induction machine with localized voltage unbalance compensation is disclosed. The use of an induction machine with a voltage unbalance correction compensator (VUC) may be used to maintain proper working conditions of the machine during intervals of voltage unbalance."
