ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,416,619, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to THE EUROPEAN UNION, REPRESENTED BY THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION (Brussels).
"Simulant composition of an explosive compound" was invented by Mitja Vahcic (Geel, Belgium), David Anderson (Brussels), John Seghers (Ham, Belgium) and Hanne Leys (Kasterlee, Belgium).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a powdered simulant composition of an explosive compound having an Zeff, between 6.5 and 7.5 andthe use thereof."
The patent was filed on Oct. 19, 2020, under Application No. 17/770,941.
