ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,458,046, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to The Coca-Cola Co. (Atlanta).

"Beverages comprising siamenoside I with enhanced flavor" was invented by Juvenal Higiro (Atlanta), Yu Shi (Marietta, Ga.), Indra Prakash (Alpharetta, Ga.), Gil Ma (Atlanta) and Zhu Gao (Sandy Springs, Ga.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Beverages comprising a sweetening amount of rebaudioside M or sucrose and non-sweetening amounts of siamenoside I are provided. Said beverages have improved flavor profiles, including more rounded flavor. Methods of preparing beverages and methods of improving the flavor profile of beverages are also provided."
