ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,529,092, issued on Jan. 20, was assigned to The Broad Institute Inc. (Cambridge, Mass.) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, Mass.).

"In-situ spatial transcriptomics" was invented by Aviv Regev (Cambridge, Mass.) and Sanja Vickovic (Cambridge, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates to systems and method of in-situ tissue profiling. Methods for spatiotemporal processing of a sample, capturing molecules of interest, and correlating cells in the sample to the capture molecules are provided."
