US Patent Issued to The Braun on Sept. 23 for "Wheelchair system and method of use" (Indiana Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,422,852, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to The Braun Corp. (Winamac, Ind.).

"Wheelchair system and method of use" was invented by Andrew Henseleit (LaPorte, Ind.) and John Hayes (Rochester, Ind.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A wheelchair system may include vehicles including docking systems for a wheelchair. The wheelchair and the docking system may be coupled to controllers in communication with one another via a secure communication channel. A user may use a computing device to send signals to and receive signals from the controllers and a data processing system to select the docking system to which the wheelchair may be secured."...
