ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,311,615, issued on May 27, was assigned to The Boeing Co. (Chicago).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A pressure deck for an aircraft comprises a flat composite laminate base panel having integrated tear straps to enhance damage arrestment. The tear straps include a plurality of multi-ply, spaced apart longitudinal and lateral tear straps interspersed with the plies of the base panel."
