US Patent Issued to The Boeing on June 17 for "Separation of film layer from composite prepreg" (South Carolina Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,330,288, issued on June 17, was assigned to The Boeing Co. (Chicago).

"Separation of film layer from composite prepreg" was invented by Luis Velasquez (Ladson, S.C.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A film layer adhered to a ply of prepreg is separated from the ply by clamping the ply between two clamping members and flicking an exposed edge of the ply."

The patent was filed on Oct. 27, 2022, under Application No. 18/050,335.
