ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,340, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to The Boeing Co. (Arlington, Va.).
"Aircraft sidewall having cabin windows with insulating seals" was invented by Nicole R. Wise (Snohomish, Wash.), John Scott Black (Cle Elum, Wash.), Gregory A. Tubbs (Marysville, Wash.), Phillip E. Pacini (Bothell, Wash.) and Mark Allan Stadum (Marysville, Wash.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A window assembly for an aircraft fuselage includes a seal surrounding the periphery of a window in a cabin sidewall. The seal fills voids within the sidewall and forms a physical and thermal barrier against cold air within the sidewall cavity from reaching the window."
