ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,539,958, issued on Feb. 3, was assigned to The Boeing Co. (Arlington, Va.).
"Sandwich panel with noise dampening" was invented by Umamaheswaran Shanmugam (Chennai, India).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sandwich panel comprising a first layer, a second layer, and a core layer located between the first layer and the second layer. The core layer is comprised of structures connected by channels. The structures and the channels reflect sound waves entering the core layer."
The patent was filed on Dec. 5, 2023, under Application No. 18/528,930.
