ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,493,026, issued on Dec. 9, was assigned to THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE LELAND STANFORD JUNIOR UNIVERSITY (Stanford, Calif.).
"Tissue engineered 3D models for cancer metastasis" was invented by Eva Carolina Gonzalez Diaz (Palo Alto, Calif.) and Fan Yang (Stanford, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Engineered tissue models based on three-dimensional (3D) scaffolds, also referred to herein as tissue-engineered 3D models, can be used as in vitro diagnostic and drug screening tools for predicting, preventing and/or treating cancer metastases."
