ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,225,297, issued on Feb. 11, was assigned to THE AEROSPACE Corp. (El Segundo, Calif.).

"Zoned anti-glint filter for cameras in high consequence environments" was invented by Benjamen P. Bycroft (Los Angeles) and Donald Wayne Denham (Arlington, Va.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Zoned anti-glint filtering includes identifying one or more pixels impacted or predicted to be impacted by glint in a captured image, and adjusting the one or more pixels to capture an image with those zones dimmed to mitigate impacts from glint.
