ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,303,608, issued on May 20, was assigned to Thales Avionics Inc. (Irvine, Calif.).

"Spaced apart sterilization lights in an aircraft cabin" was invented by Samuel Colt Meskimen (Huntington Beach, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A pathogen sterilization light assembly for a vehicle cabin is provided herein and may include a plurality of sterilization lights mounted spaced apart along a cabin of the vehicle and configured to emit ultraviolet (UV) light directed toward areas within the cabin to sterilize pathogens."

The patent was filed on Dec. 22, 2021, under Application No. 17/558,901.
