ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,553,508, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to Textron Innovations Inc. (Providence, R.I.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A spring-loaded cap mechanism includes an annular cap having a rotational axis and adapted to bear against a drive-shaft adapter and a spring positioned opposite the drive-shaft adapter and that axially biases the annular cap in a linear direction against the drive-shaft adapter responsive to engagement of the drive-shaft adapter with the annular cap."
