ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,357,000, issued on July 15, was assigned to Texas Tech University System (Lubbock, Texas).
"High-moisture, all-natural, shelf-stable food product" was invented by Richard Schlomer Meyer (Harrison, Idaho).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for preparing a shelf-stable, high-moisture food product is disclosed, including drying the pre-pasteurized food item to a water activity between 0.86 and 0.94; and vacuum packing the dried food item in an oxygen impermeable and water-impermeable membrane."
The patent was filed on June 13, 2019, under Application No. 17/251,878.
