ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,329,664, issued on June 17, was assigned to Terumo Corp. (Tokyo).
"Vessel prosthesis" was invented by Cang Lam (Tokyo), Shirley Vong (Tokyo) and Priscilla Tsai (Tokyo).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A vascular prosthesis is described, having blunted wire ends. The blunted wire ends can take on a variety of configurations including end caps, bent ends, curved ends, or eyelets. The novel ends provide a smooth surface to contact the blood vessel walls thereby reducing the risk of trauma during placement of the prosthesis."
The patent was filed on June 1, 2021, under Application No. 17/336,157.
