ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,364,786, issued on July 22, was assigned to Terumo Corp. (Tokyo).

"Polymer particles" was invented by Gloria Hincapie (Aliso Viejo, Calif.), Xinping Wu (Aliso Viejo, Calif.), Yue Wu (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) and Gregory M. Cruise (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Biodegradable, cross-linked polymer particle embolics and methods of making the same are described. The particle embolics can be used as embolization agents."

The patent was filed on Aug. 4, 2023, under Application No. 18/230,569.
