ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. PP36,891, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to Terra Nova Nurseries Inc. (Canby, Ore.).
"Heuchera plant named 'Midnight'" was invented by John C. Pavlich (Olympia, Wash.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct Heuchera cultivar named 'Midnight' distinguished by its glossy black and purple leaf color, medium-large leaves held on short petioles, red purple flowers on upright flowering stems, excellent performance in sun or shade, medium mounding habit with an excellent crown count, and excellent vigor from spring to fall."
The patent was filed on Sept. 26, 2024, under Application No. 18/897,542.
