ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,375,644, issued on July 29, was assigned to Tencent America LLC (Palo Alto, Calif.).

"Grouping based adaptive reordering of merge candidate" was invented by Lien-Fei Chen (Hsinchu, Taiwan), Xiang Li (Saratoga, Calif.), Ling Li (Seoul, South Korea) and Shan Liu (San Jose, Calif.).
