ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,292,083, issued on May 6, was assigned to Temper Corp. (Fonda, N.Y.).
"Adjustable spacer with hardened ends" was invented by John E. Rode (Fonda, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An adjustable spacer with a non-hardened intermediate portion therebetween is mountable between a pair of roller bearings also mounted on a shaft such an axle or spindle or the like. The intermediate portion allows the spacer to collapse in the axial direction to maintain desired axial loads on the bearings."
The patent was filed on Oct. 16, 2020, under Application No. 17/072,075.
