ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,539,349, issued on Feb. 3, was assigned to TECHNION RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION Ltd. (Haifa, Israel) and Children's Medical Center Corp. (Boston).

"Biocompatible tissue-adhesive polymers" was invented by Boaz Mizrahi (Haifa, Israel), Alona Shagan (Haifa, Israel), Dan Kohane (Newton, Mass.) and Wei Zhang (Nashua, N.H.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides a branched biodegradable and biocompatible polymer (e.g. polycaprolactone) and use thereof in bioadhesion of at least one biological surface."

The patent was filed on Feb. 10, 2020, under Application No. 17/429,681.
