ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,357,883, issued on July 15, was assigned to TAYLOR MADE GOLF COMPANY INC. (Carlsbad, Calif.).

"Golf club head having a shaft connection system socket" was invented by Michael Scott Burnett (McKinney, Texas), Alexander Theodore Berger (Richardson, Texas) and Justin Honea (Rowlett, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A high characteristic time golf club incorporating a shaft connection system socket extending from the bottom portion of the golf club head into the interior of the outer shell toward the top portion of the club head."
