ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,359,331, issued on July 15, was assigned to TATA STEEL NEDERLAND TECHNOLOGY B.V. (Velsen-Noord, Netherlands).
"Method for electrodepositing a functional or decorative chromium layer from a trivalent chromium electrolyte" was invented by Jacques Hubert Olga Joseph Wijenberg (Amsterdam) and Ganesan Palaniswamy (Haarlem, Netherlands).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for the electrodeposition of a functional or decorative chromium layer onto a metallic substrate in an electrodeposition process from a halide-ion free and boric acid free aqueous electrolyte solution and to the coated product obtained thereby."
