ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,286,456, issued on April 29, was assigned to Takeda Vaccines Inc. (Cambridge, Mass.).

"Purification of virus like particles" was invented by Ross Taylor (Cambridge, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods of purifying virus-like particles (VLPs) that are substantially free of process contaminants and infectious agents. The methods incorporate, for example, low-pH treatment during harvest and/or inactivation by a solvent and/or detergent during VLP capture."

The patent was filed on Aug. 11, 2021, under Application No. 17/399,731.
