ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,429,406, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to TAIWAN MITOCHONDRION APPLIED TECHNOLOGY Co. LTD. (Zhubei, Taiwan).
"Agent for cryopreservation and method for cryopreservation of mitochondria using the same" was invented by Chi-Tang Tu (Zhubei, Taiwan), Szu-Ting Liu (Zhubei, Taiwan), Li-Hsin Yao (Zhubei, Taiwan) and Han-Chung Cheng (Zhubei, Taiwan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An agent for cryopreservation includes trehalose, HEPES and serum albumin. The agent for cryopreservation does not include potassium chloride, sodium chloride, ethylene glycol, ethylene glycol tetraacetic acid and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid."
