ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. PP37,001, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to Syngenta Crop Protection AG (Basel, Switzerland).
"Catharanthus plant named 'CARZ0003'" was invented by Baylee Miller (Gilroy, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "'CARZ0003' is a product of a planned breeding program. The new cultivar 'CARZ0003' has medium sized dark purple-red with a small bright pink ring around a small white eye colored flowers, excellent flower production, moderate plant size and uniform mounding and semi-spreading habit with medium green foliage."
The patent was filed on Nov. 6, 2024, under Application No. 18/938,799.
