ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. PP37,002, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to Syngenta Crop Protection AG (Basel, Switzerland).
"Catharanthus plant named 'CARZ0001'" was invented by Baylee Miller (Gilroy, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "'CARZ0001' is a product of a planned breeding program. The new cultivar 'CARZ0001' has medium sized lavender (RHS N80B) and white (RHS NN155D) colored flowers, excellent flower production, moderate plant size and uniform mounding and somewhat spreading habit with medium green foliage."
The patent was filed on Nov. 13, 2024, under Application No. 18/945,945.
