ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,444,264, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to Swyft Inc. (San Francisco).
"Automated store" was invented by Gower Smith (San Francisco) and Lincoln Smith (San Francisco).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An automated store includes a modular shelving structure and an autonomous robotic apparatus that operates to transfer items to and from the shelving structure."
The patent was filed on Sept. 11, 2018, under Application No. 16/756,714.
