ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,342,844, issued on July 1, was assigned to SWM Holdings US LLC (Atlanta).

"Reconstituted plant with plant extract for devices that heat tobacco without burning it" was invented by Linda Lamblin (Spay, France), Stephane Rouillard (Spay, France) and Meng Jun Qian (Spay, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a reconstituted plant leaf comprising plant fibres and a plant extract other than the tobacco plant suitable for devices that heat tobacco without burning it."

The patent was filed on Aug. 30, 2018, under Application No. 16/643,035.
