ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,458,578, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to SUNSTAR SUISSE SA (Etoy, Switzerland).
"Composition for inhibiting plaque formation" was invented by Junya Inubushi (Osaka, Japan) and Keisuke Nishimura (Osaka, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided is a technique for inhibiting plaque formation or plaque maturation on the tooth surface. More specifically, provided is a composition for inhibiting plaque formation containing a quaternary ammonium salt having a C10 to C14 alkyl group and preferably further containing cetylpyridinium chloride."
