ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. PP37,090, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to Sun World International LLC (Wasco, Calif.).

"Plum tree named 'SUPLUM65'" was invented by Terry A. Bacon (Maplewood, N.J.) and Terrence J. Frett (Bakersfield, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The new variety 'SUPLUM65' is characterized by having circular-shaped fruit that is very large sized for an early-season plum, with black-colored skin, firm, red-colored flesh, and a sweet-mild flavor."

The patent was filed on Aug. 18, 2025, under Application No. 19/303,050.
