ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,512,609, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Sumitomo Wiring Systems Ltd. (Yokkaichi, Japan).

"Current branching device" was invented by Hideki Goto (Yokkaichi, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided is a current branching device for branching a current and supplying the current to a plurality of supply destinations, including a branch member welded to a main conductive wire at an intermediate portion of the main conductive wire for supplying a current to one supply destination, and at least one branch conductive wire welded to the branch member, for supplying a current to another supply destination."
