ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,359,860, issued on July 15, was assigned to Sub-Zero Group Inc. (Madison, Wis.).
"Backstop for an ice maker" was invented by Keith Harold Roth (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and Thomas Michael Lasecki (Waterloo, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An ice maker includes an ice maker housing, an ice mold, an ice chute, and an ice stop. The ice mold is mounted to the ice maker to receive a fluid from which an ice piece is formed when the ice maker is used.
