ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,521,211, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to STRAUMANN HOLDING AG (Basel, Switzerland).
"Dental implant" was invented by Simon Berner (Basel, Switzerland) and Adrian Rohner (Spiez, Switzerland).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A dental implant made of a ceramic material including an implant surface having at least partially a contact angle of less than 20deg, the implant surface being at least partially covered by a protective layer. The protective layer includes a dextran having a molecular weight of more than 15,000 Da."
The patent was filed on April 10, 2018, under Application No. 16/604,809.
