ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,539,897, issued on Feb. 3, was assigned to Strato Technology Solutions LLC (Saginaw, Texas).

"Yoke-mounted coupler support" was invented by Jonathan Sunde (Fort Worth, Texas) and Michael Ring (Lake Village, Ind.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A yoke for a railway car is provided with a coupler support protruding from a top wall of the yoke into an interior space in the yoke to contact the coupler shank when the coupler head is deflected downward to prevent the coupler from drooping after prolonged use."

The patent was filed on April 10, 2020, under Application No. 17/619,805.
