US Patent Issued to Stora Enso on March 18 for "Process for preparing a lignin-based resin" (Swedish Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,252,593, issued on March 18, was assigned to Stora Enso OYJ (Helsinki).

"Process for preparing a lignin-based resin" was invented by Ben Nasli Bakir (Saltsjo-boo, Sweden) and Dimitri Areskogh (Stockholm).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to an improved process for preparing an aqueous dispersion of lignin and the use of said suspension in the preparation of a resin."

The patent was filed on Dec. 13, 2021, under Application No. 17/643,970.
